If you’re a Re:Fuel regular then chances are that you’ve seen our resident DJ, Kian, before filling the paddock with music! As Kian and The DJ Van are becoming a more common occurrence it’s only right that we give him a proper introduction.
“For me, I love cars and music. So this was a great way to scratch both itches”. Kian Rayment, owner of The DJ Van, kick started his business in 2023 by converting his van into a head-turning mobile sound system that can be set up at any location.
“I believe it’s important to offer people a unique entertainment experience, which has been one of the factors driving (if you’ll pardon the pun) creation of The DJ Van. It’s kitted out with carefully selected speakers, decks and lights – basically everything you need to play an epic DJ set – making it a night club on wheels”.
“I’ve worked hard over the past 12 months to make the concept a reality. The end result is a valuable tool for DJs and events organisers to use at events, private parties and much more” said Kian.
Kian has taken into consideration the Great-British climate and ensured The DJ Van is suitable for all year use by using water-resistant speakers, making it perfect for outdoor and indoor events. An off-grid setup assisted by solar power can keep the music going for hours.
“I am delighted to be the resident DJ for Re:Fuel too. The DJ Van and Re:Fuel are a match made in heaven thanks to the obvious automotive theme! I have played at several of the Coffee, Cars, Bikes & Sunset events in the summer which were great fun. All of Re:Fuel’s events never disappoint thanks to the delicious food & drinks on offer and the friendly car community making each other feel welcome”.
The DJ Van can play any sound, not just club style music. The DJ Van provided a festive soundtrack at The Steamer Coffeehouse’s recent Christmas market. “It was fantastic to get in the festive spirit at the Christmas market. I grabbed a latte, a bacon, sausage and egg roll, and took a moment to enjoy the cosy log burner in the dining area”.
